The Wilkes Acoustic Folk Society gave scholarship awards at the April meeting. President, Susan Rhodes and member, Sharon Carter Underwood presented RC Stamper of Pilot Mountain with the 2023 Gary Saunders Memorial scholarship to Dr. Banjo Camp Gary, an active member and Musician with a heart of gold, passed away in 2020. Sharon Underwood received the Swannanoa Gathering scholarship to be held in June at Warren Wilson College.
